Who can be sued for malpractice?

Who can be sued for malpractice? Technically, a medical provider can be sued for malpractice. However, the Alabama Medical Liability Act broadly defines what a medical provider is. For example, a medical provider can consist of anyone from a physician, a nurse, a clinical psychologist or a dentist.

Now, there is one important factor to note. Any medical provider can be sued for malpractice, for failing to perform a reasonably prudent medical treatment. The tricky part, however, is trying to define what “reasonably prudent” means. If you’ve been a victim of medical malpractice, I would recommend contacting an attorney. Because medical malpractice cases are so complicated, it is difficult for someone to do on their own. There are many details that could be easily overlooked. If you work with an experienced attorney, however, they can point out aspects that you had never even considered before.
